Michigan Vending Locations
But any of the cities along I-96 to Grand Rapids are good areas.
Brighton benefits from its ideal position along US-23, which connects Toledo and Ann Arbor from the south, with Flint, the Birch Run outlet mall, Frankenmuth and the tourist areas in the north. It also is situated on I-96, which connects Detroit and its Metro area on the east, with Howell, Lansing and Grand Rapids to the west.
Lansing where Michigan’s state capitol is located, is growing to the north. Nearby cities of Eaton Rapids, East Lansing, Charlotte and Mason offer some promising routes.
Grand Rapids is growing in its outer suburbs. It is Michigan’s second largest city and offers opportunity for a vendor able to locate in the best sites. Nearby city of Wyoming also has many great locations.
Also, many cities along I-94 running west out of Detroit have some great locations.
Ann Arbor home of the University of Michigan, it is often listed as one of the best cities to live in America. There is a steady inflow of new students, who often settle in the area. In addition, there is an affluent base of people that have lived there for years. Its high tech industries, with some automotive and Domino’s pizza headquarters provides some relief from Michigan’s depressed economy.
Marshall and Albion both have a number of great locations.
Battle Creek an old-time city and home for many of America’s cereal companies like Kellogg. There are growing areas where there is an underdeveloped vending machine market.
Livonia is in Detroit’s western suburbs along I-96 and close to I-94. Currently there are some nice situations available, but recently it was announced that 4,000 jobs might soon be transferred to Detroit – leaving my evaluation of Livonia open at this time.
Dearborn is the headquarters of Ford Motor Company, which provides a large portion of the tax base of the city. Residents benefit from this, as well as from the high tech jobs Ford has available. Dearborn is also the city which is home to more Arab Americans than any other city, a growing population.
Kalamazoo the hometown of Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees and Western Michigan University is a city with a lot of potential. Like Ann Arbor, there is a steady influx of students. Several colleges and universities are nearby. It has a mix of blue collar work ethic and high tech businesses. It’s a great place to live and to start a vending machine business.
You'll be more successful by keying on cities of 50,000 plus in population along these two interstates. Why? You need traffic in the businesses you're in. Plus you want your locations close to each other, to save you time and travel in servicing your vending machines.
In summary, you can make a good income with vending machines in Michigan. Use what I wrote as a guide and buy the right vending machines for the area you're going to establish your route.
