Michigan Vending Machine Locations
I understand Michigan is going through a tough economic period now.
But as a vending machine owner, you have a distinct advantage.
You control the amount of money you earn by the number of spots you have. And no one can take away your income.
The worst thing that could happen is you lose a location because the business closed. Well you didn't lose a job, just a location. You simply relocate your machine and you're back on track.
And if you live in Michigan, starting up a new vending machine business can provide you with a way out of the downsizing-lay off economy – by setting up your own business.
I grew up in Michigan and have family there I talk with all the time. Plus I come back to Michigan often. I know this state well. And the vendors I know in Michigan are doing well.
Except up north! Their business is down. If you live up north, now is not the right time to start a new vending machine business. This includes spots in the Upper Peninsula, Traverse City, Alpena and Rogers City. It would not be impossible to find good locations – just very difficult because of the economy.
By far the best area is metro Detroit.
If you live anywhere in Southeast MI, you have lots of opportunity to be successful with many different types of vending machines.
Most vendors are afraid to go into the city of Detroit. But that city is underserved and there's a lot of money to be made for those willing. I know vendors are afraid to go south of 8 Mile Road, but there are many safe areas there. This is especially true during daylight when you'd be servicing your route.
Because of most vendors’ reluctance to go into the city, there is a lot of opportunity there. Especially true in south Detroit near the Downriver area.
In the suburbs, you have many choices of where to establish your route.
But be aware that you will make more money in the Down River area and by Metro Airport than you will in the northern suburbs. Although there ARE selective choice spots in cities like Farmington Hills, Warren, Troy, Southfield and Rochester Hills, that's been the experience of vendors.
Down River is especially good for soda machines and bulk. Places like Allen Park, Woodhaven, Melvindale, Southgate and Ecorse are established cities but are still expanding their shopping and business locations.
The suburbs around the airport, such as Romulus, Taylor, Ypsilanti and Wayne do well with almost any vending machine.
